2017 Honda Civic LX Sedan and Hatchback

Well-equipped even in its most basic form, the 2017 Honda Civic LX can be had as either a sedan, coupe, or hatchback and are the least expensive models in the lineup. Standard power for the LX sedan and coupe is an iVTEC 2.0-liter four cylinder that produces 158 horsepower and 138-pound feet of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission driving the front wheels.

The LX hatchback gets the smaller turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 174 horsepower and 162-pound feet of torque. Both the LX sedan and LX hatchback can be equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) transmission as an option. When equipped with the manual, the sedan gets an estimated 31/40 mpg, city/highway, and the hatchback closely matches it at 33/39 mpg city/highway with the smaller, more powerful engine.

LXP Coupe

Offered with the 2.0-liter and CVT transmission, the mileage of the Civic LXP coupe is 34/39 mpg, city/highway, keeping in line with its manual transmission siblings. Standard features include those offered on the Civic LX model coupe and adds push button and remote engine start and a power moonroof. Honda Smart entry is another feature of the Civic LXP and allows you to lock and unlock the car by touch.

Hatchback Sport

The 2017 Civic Sport hatchback gets a little tweak to its turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, squeezing out another six horsepower. It is then mated to the six-speed gearbox, with CVT as an option. The addition of underbody spoilers, 18-inch alloy wheels, and standard fog lights give it a more aggressive look than other Civics.

EX Sedan or Hatchback

Powered with the 2.0-liter four in the Civic EX sedan and the turbo 1.5-liter four-cylinder in the Civic EX hatchback, both are connected to the CVT transmission, standard.
